PRF Injections

No downtime is required after PRF injections, though you might decide to postpone social engagements if you have post-treatment bruising or swelling. You can return to nearly all your regular activities if you feel comfortable.

You may experience bruising, redness and/or swelling that should resolve in a few days. If you have any discomfort, it can be managed with cool compresses or over-the-counter medication. Avoiding sun exposure is recommended after any aesthetic procedure.

You may notice superficial improvements in your complexion within a few days. However, the full results don’t happen right away. As your body gradually increases collagen production and regenerates your skin, your results become more and more visible. Maximum results are usually reached three to six months after treatment.

Patients usually achieve the best results with a series of PRF treatments. Three to five sessions is a typical treatment plan. During your consultation at The Lifestyle Center, your provider will assess your skin and discuss your goals to create a customized PRF treatment plan.

The most common side effects are those associated with any injectable: bruising, redness, swelling and tenderness around the injection sites. Bruising can be more significant with PRF than with dermal fillers or neurotoxins, so planning ahead is advisable if you have a special occasion coming up.

PRF injections are considered the next generation of treatments that use your blood to help rejuvenate your skin. In a PRF procedure, the blood is processed in the centrifuge at slower speeds than in older procedures. This means there are potentially more growth factors and other beneficial elements in the PRF concentrate.
